We were spreading soft cream cheese on crunchy, rye cracked black pepper crispbread, sprinkled parsley on top and enjoyed it with a hoppy IPA beer. A sweet and waxy texture on the palate - thick honey and golden syrup but also slightly grainy, creamy and nutty which reminded us of a ham and cheese sandwich grilled in a cast iron frying pan. With the addition of water, we went further afield, nasi goreng with kecap manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce) and Korean rice crackers on the nose, while to taste, a White Russian - that classic three ingredient cocktail using vodka, Kahlua and cream.
